I never liked kissing boys
never thought a boy’s tongue was like a girl’s
like the golden yoke of an avocado
his black seed pressed hard
inside the arches of soft, green places
I never thought a boy was beautiful
not like a girl
never thought his mouth looked like it still suckled
as he slept and dreamed of milk

A flash of pink in the shaded hollow
stunned, I stand and touch
soft soft, cashmere, petal, baby soft
what I want to be for her
what I want to do for her
in her pocket
in the shadow
in her softness
